Day 4 Departure
Day 1 Lima / Nazca (B)
Early this morning we’ll collect you from your hotel or residence for private transfer to Cruz del Sur bus station for a scenic 7-hour bus trip to Nazca. Cruz del Sur is one of the most reputable bus companies in Peru. Enjoy top-notch Crucero luxury bus service, offering onboard video movies, bathroom, a light lunch and ¾ reclining sleeper seats.
Upon departing Lima, pass through the numerous shantytowns and urban sprawl that extend 70km through the deserts south of the metropolis. The trip passed the numerous beach communities south of the Metropolis, through fertile fluvial coastal valleys and through terrain comparable to the surface of the moon.
Upon arrival in Nazca, you’ll be met at the bus terminal by our local representative and transferred to your hotel (15:00pm). Check in, drop your bags and board your private vehicle for an afternoon trip (1.5 hrs.) to the haunting Pre-Inca burial grounds of Chauchilla where the profanation of tombs by the huaqueros (grave robbers), have left some tombs discovered, in which you can appreciate the old inhabitants’ relics. Following Chauchilla your guide transfer you back to the hotel for the evening.
Day 2 Nazca / Paracas (B)
This morning you’ll be collected from the hotel and transferred to the Nazca airport. Buckle up and get ready to be amazed by the splendor and magnificent art of the Nazca lines. Unfolding beneath you are dozens of animal figures, trapezoids and ruler-straight lines that lie across the rocky Nazca plateau, visible only from the air. The mystery surrounding the Nazca Lines continues to go unanswered. Some say it is an ancient solar calendar. Others suggest the Lines acted as ritual pathways for religious processions. Still others believe it was just an ancient culture’s way of asking for water during a long drought. That will be up to you to decide upon.
Once on the ground again you’ll be taken back to Nazca city for lunch, before picking up your luggage at the hotel and transferring to the Cruz del Sur bus terminal for the 3.5-hour journey north to Paracas.
Upon arrival in Paracas, you’ll be met at the bus terminal and transferred to your selected hotel. Have the afternoon/evening free to enjoy the hotel pool, take a stroll on the boardwalk and have lunch/dinner at one of the numerous seafood restaurants located in ‘El Chaco’.
Day 3 Ballestas Islands / Lima (B)
This morning our local representative will collect you from the hotel (08:00am) and take you to the private port where you’ll enjoy a two-hour boat trip to the Peruvian version of the Galapagos Islands, more commonly referred to as the Ballestas Islands. Located on the fringes of the National Reserve of Paracas, we’ll venture by speedboat accompanied by our local biologist to get a glimpse of the abundant marine life thriving in the Peruvian seas. He will orient the group with a short lesson on to the wonders and tragedies of the Peruvian coastal waters.
Observe Sea lions, Pelicans, Penguins, Peruvian Boobies, Cormorantes and other Marine birds as well as the famous “Candelabro”, an enigmatic desert drawing that many people believe is related to the Nazca lines.
Following the Ballestas tour at 11:00am you’ll have some time for lunch before transferring back to the Cruz del Sur terminal for the last leg of your journey. Upon arrival in Lima you’ll be met at the bus terminal and transferred to your hotel or residence.
